Metro Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) will offer a 5-day version of its acclaimed
national leadership training in Chicago May 2017. The training will include the core universals and skills used by IAF affiliate organizations throughout the country. This training will be useful for emerging leaders, leaders who have been involved in broad-based organizing but have yet to participate in other trainings, and staff of member organizations.
May 8 – Monday 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May 9 – Tuesday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May 10 – Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May 11 – Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May 12 – Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This daytime schedule is especially geared to people in the Chicago area who choose to commute each day to the training. As is described below, reasonable accommodations can be found within walking distance of the site.
Please note that there will likely be one “action” for participants to attend and evaluate.
Details on the exact locations will be provided later. There will also be reading and writing assignments, which will need to be done in the evenings and returned the next day. You are urged to clear your calendars for the evenings, as well as the days, so that you can fully and most effectively participate. You must attend all sessions. No exceptions.
MEALS AND LODGING
Coffee and snacks will be provided in the morning. Lunch will be provided each day. If

PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Parking: reduced-rate parking is available at ROW Parking Garage, 50 E Ohio Street, for $14 up to 18 hours. Get a sticker from the St. James Commons reception desk.
Public Transportation: St. James Commons is located 2 blocks from the red line, exit at Chicago Avenue, then south two blocks to the corner of Wabash and Huron. The building is one block west from the 145, 146, 147, and 151 bus lines on Michigan Avenue, exit at Superior or Erie if southbound, exit at Huron if northbound. .
• $325 per person for individuals who belong to members of IAF organizations or Chicago area Episcopal congregations and institutions.
• $775 per person for individuals who do not belong to member IAF organizations or the other organizations listed above.

Attendance is limited to a maximum of 60 participants. The training will be canceled if a
minimum of 30 people are not registered by March 31, 2016. If this happens we will notify you ASAP.
All names and checks must be received by Monday, April 9, 2017. If the maximum number is reached before then, we will notify all groups or ask you to consider a future training session.
